What You'll be Doing as a Lead Product Manager

Clean Power Research is seeking a Lead Product Manager for our SolarAnywhere® product management team. On the SolarAnywhere® team, you’ll work on an innovative software-plus-science product that performs industry-leading solar prediction for the utility and solar markets. We start with near real-time satellite imagery and use sophisticated scientific algorithms to measure and forecast how much solar energy hits the ground. There are numerous markets for SolarAnywhere, including utility-scale forecasting and rooftop fleet operation.  
 
As the Lead Product Manager, you will manage our solar industry products throughout the product lifecycle, from product planning to marketing and sales to post sales customer support. This includes gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and working closely with engineering to deliver winning products.  

Additionally, this individual will have responsibility for portions of the sales targets for the company’s core subscription software services and will need to be able to effectively work with sales, marketing and engineering to meet these revenue and profitability goals. This position calls for excellent strategic thinking combined with the desire and ability to execute and win.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer’s needs and pain points across all phases of the Solar plant lifecycle, from planning and financing, to development, to operations and energy trading 
  • Define product vision, strategy and roadmap, incorporating Customer’s voice, to develop products and features that delight customers and are aligned to expected industry best-practices and regulations   
  • Work with engineering to develop functional project specifications, identify product feature enhancements, and launch product and  features that delight customers and are aligned to expected industry best-practices and regulations   
  • Develop product positioning and messaging and corresponding marketing and sales materials.  Work with sales and marleting to plan and orchestrate go-to-market actions 
  • Develop business plans and quantitative business models (e.g., pricing and licensing) 
  • Learn and be able to articulate the business and technical intricacies of the product line 
  • Develop and own key customer accounts, building a foundation for long-term business relationships 
  • Engage with sales team to achieve assigned quota and revenue targets on a quarterly basis 
  • Be the company’s expert on the market for irradiance and extreme weather products, including understanding the competition 
  • Demo the products compellingly in person and over the web 
  • Represent and promote our  products and company at various industry events  
  • Supervise and guide the work of other members of the SolarAnywhere Product Management Team 

Who You Are

  • BA/BS degree required; technical degree and/or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years as a product manager or program manager (with customer-facing experience) including success in management positions
  • Software industry experience required; SaaS and B2B/enterprise software experience a plus 
  • Energy, renewable, solar or clean tech passion required
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets to model pricing, adoption, etc. 
  • Superior organizational and project management skills

Pay Range & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $120,000 to $150,000 annual depending on experience
  • Benefits: Performance-Based Bonus, Company Equity Plan
